Manchester derby. Manchester United travel to Manchester City on Thursday knowing a victory would see them climb above their city rivals in the Premier League table. Having spent a large part of the season flitting between sixth and fifth in the rankings, Jose Mourinho's men now have two realistic avenues into the Champions League next season. United are amidst somewhat of a defensive crisis at present. Marcos Rojo suffered a knee injury during the club's European meeting with Anderlecht, leading to him being stretchered off midway through the first half, and will miss the rest of the season. Fellow central defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are also doubts ahead of Thursday's derby clash, though Mourinho may well be forced into involving one of the two due to their desperate situation. Elsewhere, Juan Mata will also miss out after being ruled out for the season following groin surgery, while Ander Herrera's ankle knock picked up against Burnley may also force hi...

IFA is investigating Paul Pogba’s world-record transfer from Juventus to Manchester United , because the “agent – as opposed to player – is receiving massive chunk of his sell-on fee”, according to German football expert, Raphael Honigstein. Honigstein, in a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, says it “is highly unusual and raises questions”. He wrote: “Raiola’s fee of 16m for bringing Pogba to Man Utd – paid by Man Utd over course of contract – is more than double what you’d expect. “Agent – as opposed to player – receiving massive chunk of his sell-on fee is highly unusual and raises questions. Former  Liverpool  defender Steve Nicol has questioned Jurgen Klopp's side's pursuit of Roma winger Mohamed Salah and does not think the Egypt international will oust Philippe Coutinho or Sadio Mane and receive regular game-time at Anfield.  Salah, 25, has told the Giallorossi of his wish to leave Rome  and move to Merseyside this summer, but the Reds have not yet agreed a fee for the former  Chelsea  winger.  It is understood that the two clubs are still £10m apart, with Roma valuing their star attacker at £40m. The touted fee does not sit well with Nicol, who plied his trade at Anfield for 13 years. The former Scotland international does not think Salah will be a regular starter due the presence of Coutinho and Mane and believes £40m is an extortionate amount to pay for a perceived squad player. "It is a lot of money," Nicol told ESPN, relayed by  Goal. "It's a lot of money for Liverpool to buy a player, who, if everybody is fit, I d...
