Mary J. Blige to Appear on VH1's 'Dear Mama' Special

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will be appearing on VH1's Mother's Day special Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms.
Following the release of her thirteenth album, Thick of It, on Friday (April 28), Mary J. Blige will be honoring her mother during the ceremony at Pasadena's Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in California. Ahead of her appearance on the special, Blige will be premiering her documentary on VH1 on Tuesday (May 2) titled Strength of a Woman: An Album Documentary, which will offer an insider's look at the inspiration and creative process behind Blige's latest studio effort. 
The singer joins previously announced acts Robin ThickeDJ KhaledMaxwell, and Kelly Rowland for the event, which will be hosted by La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson. 
Dear Mama lands on VH1 on May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
